about
After a promising debut recording in 2016, Turkish horde Tir returns three years later with a new offering entitled “Urd, Skuld & Verdandi”, an 11-track ordeal of what one could describe as classic Dungeon Synth, utterly atmospheric and evocative. Drinking from the ancient fountain led by entities such as Burzum and Mortiis, Tir portray a shadowy landscape filled with visions of mystery, an aura that embraces the cryptic and the arcane. Ethereal keyboard passages are intertwined with Folk overtones expressing the darkness and gloom of a long-forgotten past, a piercing and poignant musical and visual display.
Out on Repose Records on limited cassette and Digipak CD edition, “Urd, Skuld & Verdandi” stands as a full-on experience of powerful patterns of nature and nostalgia that will certainly take the listener on a startling journey through the unknown and beyond...

Turkey’s First “Dungeon Synth” project, Tir, releases second full-length record: Urd, Skuld & Verdandi
Tir has released his second full-length record following Mountains (2016), which is known to be the first “dungeon synth” record across the Turkish music scene.
Released under Repose Records label from the United Kingdom, Urd, Skuld & Verdandi was completed only in two months. The record was mixed and mastered by Markus Stock (Empyrium, The Vision Bleak, Sun of the Sleepless), and Thomas Helm (Empyrium, Noekk) featured two tracks with vocals.
Stepping into the professional music scene with his solo-project Tir, Oytun Bektaş, a devoted listener and performer for more than 20 years, also presents Dark Folk and Mediaeval tunes alongside “dungeon synth” elements. The record includes a total of 11 tracks that make up 58 minutes, and the lyrics of vocal tracks are borrowed from Khalil Gibran and Peter Kassel.
Released by Repose Records in limited digipack and cassette formats, Urd, Skuld & Verdandi is also available at a series of digital platforms including Spotify and Apple Music.
